An Affordable, Safe and Confident Capital City
Hobart should be a city people can afford to live in, move through and enjoy with confidence. That begins with respecting ratepayers — keeping costs under control, spending carefully and ensuring every Council dollar delivers real value.
It also means creating a city that feels safe, clean and welcoming for residents, workers, businesses and visitors. Safety is not only about enforcement. It is about well-maintained streets, good lighting, practical transport, visible support and early action before problems grow.
As Tasmania’s capital, Hobart must set a higher standard. We should be economically responsible, socially compassionate and strong enough to lead the wider region. My priority is a city that protects the household budget, supports local business and gives people confidence in the streets they use and the Council that serves them.
