A Capital City of Opportunity and Investment
Hobart should be Tasmania’s economic and civic leader — a capital city that welcomes responsible investment, encourages innovation and creates secure local jobs.
We need a Council that gives investors and businesses confidence: clear processes, timely decisions, reliable infrastructure and a genuine willingness to work with those who want to contribute to the city. Good investment should strengthen Hobart, support local enterprise, create employment and deliver lasting benefits for the community.
As Lord Mayor, I will champion Hobart as a place where ideas are welcomed, businesses can grow and responsible investors are encouraged to build for the future. That means supporting our traditional industries while opening the door to new opportunities in technology, creative industries, advanced services, tourism and emerging enterprise.
Hobart should be known not only for its beauty and heritage, but for its ambition — a capital city where investment creates opportunity, innovation leads to growth and more people can build a future close to home.
A strong Hobart strengthens the whole south. Our capital city must lead with confidence, attract opportunity and turn good ideas into jobs, prosperity and lasting civic value.
