A calm, steady hand, and a Council you can trust.
Listening and Accountable
Hobart must reclaim its place as a confident and effective capital city — leading Tasmania’s economic growth, supporting the wider southern region and representing our community with strength at the State and Federal tables.
But a capital city can only lead well when it listens to its people. The knowledge, experience and aspirations of residents, businesses and community organisations must help shape Hobart’s future. Consultation should be genuine, decisions should be made openly, and Council must explain how community feedback has influenced the outcome.
Integrity and transparency are the foundations of public trust. My approach is calm, steady and practical: bringing people together, asking the difficult questions and keeping the focus on outcomes rather than theatre.
As Lord Mayor, I will work to restore the standing of Hobart and the significance of its civic leadership — ensuring our capital city is economically strong, culturally confident and guided by the people it represents.
